Dr. Woody G. Kim is currently the Robert H. Dedman Professor of Hospitality Management and Director of International Center for Hospitality Research & Development in the Dedman School of Hospitality at Florida State University.  His research interests include service management, service marketing, and sustainability. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, and he has also presented papers in more than 100 national and international conferences. He was recognized as the 5th leading researcher worldwide among esteemed authors of hospitality research in a 2011 article entitled, “Hospitality and Tourism Research Ranking by Author, University and Country using six major journals:  The first decade of the new millennium,” which was published in the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research (JHTR). He is an associate editor of the Journal of Quality of Assurance in Hospitality and Tourism. He also serves on six journal editorial boards and review articles for a number of journals.

 


John N. Mellon, Ed.D. CDEP, aka Dr. John Etiquette, LLD began his interest and working in the business, banking and hospitality industries at age of 12 years old and can still work a meat slicer for his country club manager friend during the summer golf tournaments and wedding season.  He leads his life to learn something new each day seeking to use that current information to add strength to his business developments, marketing & sales lectures and professional presentations.

As the world becomes smaller company’s need to practice the theories of Marketing and create new visionary concepts to make their operations and products more appealing, especially to today’s comparison Internet shopper and the International consumer.  Dr. Mellon identifies untapped target market to make products and services more appealing then develops visionary operational processes and marketing plans to increase sales – revenue.  He has developed directional marketing processes, such as “W.O.T.S. U.P.”  to increase customer service and employee productivity.

Dr. Mellon have been teaching Marketing, Management and Hospitality Management courses since 1986.  He knows all of his students by name and practices an open door policy, which has led to many lifelong student-faculty relationships.  He looks forward to the holiday season, because he receives holiday cards from former students highlighting photographs of their children.

John earned a BS from The Pennsylvania State University, an MBA from the University of New Haven (CT) and doctoral degree from The George Washington University (Washington, DC).  Currently is an active member of the Hospitality, Sales and Marketing Association International, the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences and is Chairman of the Board for the Choice One Community Credit Union (Wilkes-Barre, PA).
